I’m Heather Strommen. Welcome to my world of Storied Design—I am so glad you are here!

I’m a designer—fueled by passion and a storyteller at heart. My debut novel, VELVET, is out now, and I recently launched Storied Home Fabrics—a collection of heirloom-inspired textiles rooted in memory, meaning, and the beauty of a well-loved home.

I was only nine when I caught the decorating bug. Besides constantly rearranging my bedroom (don’t even get me started on how many times I moved that big brass bed), I once reworked our entire living room while my mom was at work. Can you imagine her face?

Even then, I was drawn to how a space could shift with a few thoughtful touches—a stack of books, a beloved photo, a chair turned just the right way. That same love of detail still guides everything I do.

I believe a meaningful home tells your story—through light and texture, color and quiet decisions. Whether it’s a custom piece or a vintage treasure, I love helping people find the just-right layers that reflect who they are and how they live.

Design, like writing, is a way of seeing. And when it’s done with care, it creates something that lingers—something beautiful, personal, and lasting.
